The Special Child

Posted by hteodosio on Oct-24-2008

This is my 4th day at work having a 3 - 11 shift, still taking my reviews and exams as a pre qualification for us apprentice to be able to use the machines at work. Was able to familiarize my working area and being able to see how things work its a different working habit since you encounter different devices and you enjoy moving around.

Have a good laugh with my group last night since we just appointed our muse (special child daw) which she readily accepted. As one of my “ate” would say “proud na proud ka tawagin special child”. I really don’t know about this group mate of ours but she’s already 22 and yet she acts like a 19 or 20 yr old girl hehehe.

What Im doing now

Its been a while since my last story here.. buuussyy days are here since I started my work as a semiconductor tester. Lots of training to undergo and alot  of reviewers to read and understand and I don’t even have a time to get a decent haircut.

Yet I’m having fun and its a new environment for me since starting as a print media artist and linkbuilder. Hope everything works out fine.

Talk with you again

Experience since last week.

Its been a while since my last post.. haven’t really got the time since the training for my new work is very much tiring. Just to get some things on my blog would just summarize what I did this past few days.

Monday - Friday - Lectures, trainings exams and final exams for my proper training, it was not so easy as you may say.. had to take the exams twice with just having 1 mistake but the company needs a hundred percent result.

Saturday - spent the morning touring the company, a large area and the policy are quite strict, you can’t even enter the main building without proper notification from your supervisor. One of our group came in late so instead of 8 am, we entered around 830 and have to wait again in the lobby for our supervisor.

Spent the afternoon getting some good rest and a needed one at that, at night (hope my fiancee doesn’t read this hahaha winks) went out to some party similar to what they call as smallville, but was disappointed seem like a “food fest” back in our city, it seems that all the while as the crowd at the entrance gets longer the people doesn’t fill up the center. You have to get a line just to enter kinda like a buying a ticket hehehe. I ended up drinking just 2 bottles of san mig light and went home.

Today another lecture.. still got a week for lectures and trainings and its getting really boring..

Good experience

Its been days since my last article, been buzy with my orientations and trainings with a new company, so far its been a great experience for me and I’m very mucg excited to start working with this company, the knowledge that you will learn are endless plus the fact that there are a dozen of oppurtunities to grow with this company.

But they do have a strict standard to follow and rules, but I guess having the best ISO standards really do matter.

Professionals being unprofessionals

Posted by hteodosio on Oct-5-2008

I’ve been to 2 companies already working as a graphic designer for print media and a web designer/linkbuilder for a web development company, and I was amazed of the professionalism that differs between the last 2 companies I have worked for.

The first company was very much keen on its employees benefits, at that time I wasn’t spending a dime for my SSS,GSIS and  other tax payments as the said company shouldered everything and you get your work pay in full. While the other company has a higher work wage and they deduct taxes on your pay which is a normal way.

But in terms of professionalism I prefer my old company over the new one. For a simple reason that their are no back biters or hard feelings brewing over. As with my previous company, there are workers or employees or even ex-comployees who still harbor hate toward that company as you can see on this site “Previous Company.

I really don’t know whats happening back there but its a shame to see professionals being un professional in their work ethichs and behaviors. I too admit that I have been in this situation before being impulsive and just typing @ those keys on my keyboards and telling everybody about my former employees reaction which I then put in into cyberspace via my websites. Guess everyone has its chance and oppurtunities to be in the limelight even if the risk is that great.

Can you professionals act this way?

This is the second time I encountered this, the first one was with a different company but I wasn’t even working there. It was all about personal attacks on the company and the head hunchos there.
