Looking into the second round of the Playoffs

Posted by hteodosio on Apr-30-2008

The second round of the NBA Playoffs is entering its initial stage. As teams from the first round began to lessen. In the West, we look forward to see if the New Orleans Hornet could sting the reigning champs the San Antonio Spurs out of the Playoff Race or would the San Antonio Spurs leave its mark against the Buzzing Hornets. While the Los Angeles Lakers are waiting the outcome between the Houston Rockets and the Utah Jazz.

Back in the East, its still a close game between the Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Hawks as the soaring hawks gained momentum going into the 5th game by winning 2 games at home and staying alive in the playoffs. While the Orlando Magic have to wait another game or 2 to see if it would face the Detroit Pistons or the Philadelphia 76ers. In a game which everyone thought would go for the 76ers, the Pistons rallied back and won game 5 and go ahead with a 3-2 record against Philadelphia.

The West it would seem would start its second round early as expected, while the East is still with both 8 teams hoping to land a place on the second round of the Playoffs.

ith the NBA Playoffs starting to enter the second round, The Los Angeles Lakers took matters and swept the Denver Nuggets going 4-0 in its 1 round. Denver tried valiantly to make a comeback during the 3rd quarter but Kobe and the Lakers denied them of a win. KB24 exploded for 14 points in the 4th quarter and dismantled every defender faced against him.

While in Atlanta, the Atlanta Hawks surprise the Boston Celtics by winning game 4 and even the series at 2 games a piece. Atlanta’s Joe Johnson,Al Horford and Joe Smith did most of the damage to Boston and setting the pace for a possible game 6 and even game 7 as the 1st round between this two teams shifts back to Boston.

The series between Orlando Magic and the Toronto Raptors ended with the Magic moving on to the second round beating the Raptors 4-1, led by their superhero Dwight Howard. Its the first time for Orlando since 1996 to move pass the 1st round of the playoff since the days of Shaq and Penny. Also another feat for Orlando is the Most Improved Player award was given to Hedo Turkoglu.

And were back with the latest news about the NBA Playoffs, it been one roller coaster ride for teams looking for a second round entry.

Cleveland Cavaliers could wrap its first round game with Washington Wizards when they have the home court. Winning by just a 3 point margin thanks to the unselfish play of Lebron James finding Delonte West for a 3 with just 5.4 seconds left in the game to give Cleveland a 3-1 game over the Washington Wizards.

While Phoenix Suns survive another day and avoid a first round sweeping by San Antonio Spurs and winning game 4 @ Phoenix as the next game shifts back to San Antonio. With Phoenix coming out blazing from start to finish giving them another chance to win another game against the Spurs.

While the Detroit Pistons even the series against the Philadelphia 76ers, with being under 2-1 and to avoid going to their next game under 3-1 the Pistons charge their cylinders and even the series 2-2. With all starters going double digits and creating problem for Andre Iguodala and the76ers  who produce 19 turnovers. The Pistons can cling another win on their next game @ Detroit.

For the Dallas Mavericks its like getting a last glimpse of the tunnel as New Orleans Hornets got the best of them and leading the series 3-1.  Jason Kidd hasn’t come out of a slump since joining the Mavericks, will the series end for the Mavericks when it shift back to New Orleans for their 5th game.

We recapped what has transpired this past few days regarding the National Basketball Association and look into the playoff picture.

The east took quite a turn as the team under 2 games bounced back to stay alive in the series and to avoid a possible sweep in the first round.

While the western division is a balance of winning and loosing as the Lost Angeles Lakers are looking for a sweep against the Denver Nuggets and for the San Antonio Spurs another win could mean early rest for the Phoenix Suns and a possible downside to the trade between Miami and Phoenix involving Shawn Marion and Shaquile O’niel.

Slow Net Connection

Its just one of those days that you get to logged into the net and found out your connection is almost the speed of a turtle, and I hate the fact that they just sent their tech guys over a couple of days before to have my connection repaired.

Have to make an inquest tomorrow @ their business office.

And I’m getting tired also..
