1st Death Anniversary
June 25 2009, exactly one year ago my grandmother died. It was a painful experience since she died after the flood last year as we evacuated our home due to the flood.
My grandmother was sweet and caring and a strict teacher; she would tell me no matter how popular or rich you are if you don’t have the brains your just a hot air. During my primary and secondary level she would teach me about mathematics since she was a teacher and she specializes in that area (Math).
She would give me a series of quizzes to take mostly all about problems solving and franction and would not allow me to go out with my friends not until I perfect the given numbers. It was fun living with her, she also taught me how to cook omelet with shrimps during my elementary days and I myself would brag about it to my mother and father. Every summer I would spend my school vacation at my grandmother’s place in Balasan.
Its a 4-5 hours trip going to Balasan at that time since the road was not constructed yet and we have to ride a bus going there, yet the trip going there was exciting as usually and I enjoy being there with my cousins. I remember that every day around 3 pm she would call out my name or have someone look for me for snacks (merienda) and after that would give me another set of exams before I go out with my cousins and would scold me if I arrived past 6 pm.
Yet with all of this; I am glad I have her as a grandmother cause she taught me a lot and the teaching she gave made me strong and educated as I grew up.
To my Grandmother “I love you so much”
